The name Helenor is inspired by the scientific name of the magnificent Blue Morpho butterfly, an iconic species that inhabits the forests surrounding the property and symbolizes transformation, beauty, and the close relationship between nature and life.
For more than twelve years, our family—Yow, a passionate local nature guide; Andrea, a community-based tourism advocate; and our daughter Helenor, who has grown up embracing the values of country life—has welcomed travelers from around the world into our home. We believe that the most meaningful journeys are created through genuine human connections, shared stories, and unforgettable moments around the family table.

“I had a wonderful stay. The hostesses were very kind. There are a few friendly dogs and even one cat there to keep you company. The living space was extremely neat and tidy. Their pool area is also very nice and the hammocks are comfortable. I only stayed one night but easily could have stayed more if my trip allowed it. They made me a delicious corn soup and Pollo Casado for dinner at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was included with the rental and was also very delicious. As warned in the listing, the road leading to the Airbnb is a bit rough, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. It is also a stone's throw away from Barra Honda National Park.
